“Pi Day” at our faculty
A highly interactive program was organized on March 13-14 under the leadership of academicians and students of the Department of Mathematics Education of the Atatürk Faculty of Education, as part of Pi Day (World Mathematics Day) celebrated every year on March 14.
The events hosted by our faculty were not limited to Atatürk Faculty of Education alone, but also attracted great interest with intense participation from other faculties of our university. The two-day program included many events that allowed the discovery of different aspects of mathematics.
Mathematics lovers had the opportunity to get to know the historical development of mathematics and its important figures closely with the “Exhibition of Traceable Mathematicians” and the “History of Pi Exhibition”. The resfebe event, where mathematical concepts were expressed with visual clues, was an event in which participants took an active role. In addition, students had both an entertaining and educational experience with the mind and intelligence games tournament. The “Seljuk Star Drawing Workshop” organized within the scope of the program stood out as an interesting workshop by combining traditional motifs with mathematics.
The event attracted attention by increasing the scientific awareness of the participants as well as strengthening the interest in mathematics.
